The Sixth Sense is comprehensive and appropriate for elementary students ages 7-12. The lesson plan is comprised of six segments: Introduction, Review of the 5 Senses, Perspective-taking and the Sixth Sense, What is it like to have a Sixth Sense impairment?, How can we help?, and Summary. Written to promote understanding and supportive social climates for children with autism spectrum disorders. Appendix B contains related resource lists and describes materials to enhance efforts to create and maintain a positive social environment.
